ALEXANDROS KYRITSIS GENERAL SURGEON

Alexandros Kyritsis was born in 1978 in Thessaloniki.

In 1996 he graduated from the 1st Experimental High School of Thessaloniki.

In 2005, he received his degree from the School of Medicine of the Thessaloniki University of Medicine, to which he had been admitted through nationwide exams.

In 2006 he fulfilled his military obligations, having served as an assistant in the Pathological and General Surgery Clinic of the 492 General Military Hospital of Alexandroupoli.

From 2007 to 2013 he specialized in Surgery at the Halkidiki General Hospital, the 2nd IKA General Hospital Panagia and the Thessaloniki General Hospital Agios Pavlos, obtaining the specialty of General Surgeon.

In 2013, he was trained in the field of minimally invasive surgery (Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery) at the world-renowned ¨Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center¨ in New York, USA. In particular, he specialized in the treatment of diseases of the colon and anus next to the pioneer General Surgeon in this field Garrett Nash.

From 2014 until 2017 he worked in a paid position, as a General Surgeon in the Hospitals of the United Kingdom ¨King’s College Hospital London¨, ¨Manchester Royal Infirmary¨ and ¨Chesterfield Royal Hospital¨. During his three years of work, he was particularly involved in Laparoscopic Surgery and the treatment of colon and rectal diseases. (colorectal surgery)

At the same time, during the years 2016 and 2017 he went to France, to successfully participate in the specialized program of Laparoscopic Surgery and minimally invasive surgery of colon-anal diseases of the leading European center ¨Research Institute against Digestive Cancer¨ (IRCAD). In fact, after successful exams he obtained a diploma in Laparoscopic Surgery from the University of Strasbourg.

After completing his medical specialty (2013) he participated and made many presentations at international General Surgery conferences in the UK and the USA.

Since 2018, he has been professionally active mainly in Thessaloniki serving the specialty of General Surgery (with an emphasis on Laparoscopic Surgery and colon-anal diseases), collaborating with the large private clinics of the city, while at the same time still occasionally offering his services as a General Specialist Surgeon at Manchester Royal Infirmary, United Kingdom.

He remains an active member of the Medical Association of England and a member of the US Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons (SLS).
